Our Yemeni Range
Both the Yemeni Mokha and Yemeni Valleys range are single origin, coming from the same origin or region. The Yemeni Mokha range is the highest in quality as it comes from a single farm that has been known to produce ‘top of the end’ coffee.
Yemeni Mokha: This range has a Single-Farmer of a Nano-lot, single origin from the same farm. These farms have been well-cared for by the same family over generations. This source ends up giving us an exquisite Yemeni coffee with full traceability and a soaring cupping score.
Yemeni Valleys: This range is based on a Collective Farmers effort producing a Micro-Lot. The coffee comes from a single origin and region. It is cultivated from multiple small farmers in the same geographical area, usually in the same valley or village. This melange offers a tasteful cup of coffee like nothing else you’ve had before.
Yemeni Cascara: Cascara is the dried skins of the coffee fruit and include the dried berries of the coffee plant that remain after the coffee beans have been collected from within. Used in Yemen for generation to brew a traditional drink close to a sweet and spiced tea.
Most Yemeni farmers cultivate in small amounts with an average production of two to three bags a year. As most farmers' harvests are very small, their produce is undesirable for logistic and efficiency reasons. As a point of difference we built the Collective Farmers effort to provide the Yemeni Valleys range to enable these farmers to trade.
